Save the Date for Agent Summit 2017

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of Agent Summit have announced that the seventh annual event is scheduled for May 21–24, 2017, at Paris Las Vegas.

Launched in 2011, the event draws about 1,000 agents and agent principals, speakers and exhibitors and remains the only conference designed by and for independent general agents.

“With less than six months before showtime and a litany of topics and speakers to consider, much work lays ahead,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur. “With the help of our advisory board, we pledge to deliver the best agenda yet for a show we hope will appear on every agent’s calendar in 2017.”

Registration for Agent Summit is expected to open in early 2017. More information about Agent Summit is available at the event’s website. For sponsorship and exhibition opportunities, contact Eric Gesualdo via email hidden; JavaScript is required or call 727-612-8826.

Agent Summit Reaches Fever Pitch

LAS VEGAS — The attendees of the sixth annual Agent Summit were treated to three days of advanced education for agents and agent principals, highly motivating keynote addresses and a panoply of networking events.

The event, which was held May 9–11 at the Venetian Palazzo in Las Vegas, also drew 60 exhibitors to a spacious exhibit hall — a first for Agent Summit — as well as the support of 90 sponsors.

“Thanks to the combined efforts of the events teams at Bobit Business Media and MG Business Media, our advisory board and our speakers and supporters, Agent Summit has established itself as a can’t-miss event for agents in the know,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom magazines. “We couldn’t be happier with the turnout or the results.”

Key sponsors included Accelerated Service International (ASI), which sponsored the event’s registration desk; AUL, AutoBodyguard and MaximTrak, which sponsored evening receptions; National Automotive Experts (NAE/NWAN), which sponsored refreshment breaks and this year’s shoe shine station; and SouthwestRe, which sponsored the meet-and-greet that kicked of the fourth annual Reinsurance Symposium. EasyCare along with GWC Warranty sponsored the event’s opening keynote address; E-Credit Express sponsored a cigar rolling station; and Allstate Dealer Services, American Financial & Automotive Services (AFAS), Portfolio, United Car Care (UCC) and Warranty Solutions sponsored meals and refreshment breaks.

At the heart of the agenda was a panoply of featured presentations and panel discussions devoted to Technology, Compliance, Training, Coaching & Development, Profit Opportunities and Selling to Dealers. Randy Crisorio, CEO and president of United Development Systems (UDS) and chair of the Agent Summit advisory board, said the event exceeded all expectations and will pay dividends for all who attended.

“Agent Summit 2016 was outstanding on many fronts,” Crisorio said. “The industry veterans shined on stage and the motivational speakers danced through people themes while walking across the tables. Attendees were clearly lathered up by the exchange of information and ready to return to their markets and pursue the cash!”

Pose a Question to Agent Summit Panelists

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of the upcoming Agent Summit are encouraging agents to go online and submit questions to be answered by panelists at the event, which will be held May 9–11, 2016, at the Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas.

“We are trying this feature for the first time, and the response so far has been very positive — and informative,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom. “It’s clear agents are taking the idea of a show designed by them, for them, to heart.”

Agents are invited to submit questions via the “Submit your questions to the panel here” buttons under each panel listing on the full agenda. This year’s schedule features six panels:

  • The pre-conference Reinsurance Symposium will feature Participation Offerings, Structures and Rewards, a panel designed to get attendees up to speed on the “language” of reinsurance, including the various programs available to agents and dealers.

Participation Offerings, Structures and Rewards »

  • The first Agent Summit panel is Technology on the Move — New Horizons, a review and analysis of the panoply of new software and tools flooding the F&I office.

    Technology »

  • This year’s Training panel is called Training the Herd! Four F&I development experts will discuss how agents can help dealers produce more top performers.

    Training »

  • That discussion will continue with Building a Team Theme for Prosperity, a panel comprised of agents, trainers and executives and dedicated to proper implementation and maintenance of new processes.

    Coaching & Development »

  • Next up is Get It All! This panel is dedicated to helping agents expand their product portfolio beyond service contracts and GAP to offer dealers a wider selection of profit opportunities.

    Profit Opportunities »

  • Finally, this year’s Selling to Dealers panel is My Prospect Just Doesn’t Get It! Agents and executives will debate the merits of various approaches to prospecting and signing new dealer clients.

2016 Reinsurance Symposium Takes Shape

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of the annual Agent Summit have announced that the Reinsurance Symposium, which has become a fixture since it was first spun off into a pre-conference event in 2013, will return for a fourth consecutive year.

Agent Summit will be held May 9–11, 2016, at the Venetian Palazzo in Las Vegas, and the Reinsurance Symposium begins at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9. General Agents with a full show pass will be invited to attend the Reinsurance Symposium for no additional charge.

“I am a huge fan of the Reinsurance Symposium, and I’m happy our advisory board has positioned it so prominently in the Agent Summit agenda,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom. “Agents and agency principals who bring expertise in reinsurance to their dealer clients hold a very tangible competitive edge.”

This year’s symposium will include a meet-and-greet with reinsurance sponsors, a keynote address by Jim Smith, founder and CEO of SouthwestRe, and two 45-minute educational sessions. Gesualdo said more information on speakers and sessions will be announced this week.

Portfolio and SouthwestRe are the lead sponsors for this year’s Reinsurance Summit. They are joined by premier sponsors CNA National, GSFSGroup, Protective Asset Protection and Delaware Tribal Financial Services and general sponsors BOK Financial, Cornerstone Financial Consulting (div. Raymond James) and SunTrust Reinsurance Trust Services.

“As in years past, our sponsors will make the Reinsurance Symposium possible and our speakers will make it a success,” Gesualdo said. “We believe it’s one of the best educational opportunities our industry has to offer.”

Registration for Agent Summit is now open at the event’s website as well as by phone, fax and email. Attendees who register by April 4 will enjoy a $100 discount.

David Horsager to Deliver Agent Summit Keynote

LAS VEGAS — World-renowned motivational speaker and leadership trainer David Horsager will deliver the Wednesday keynote address at this year’s Agent Summit, organizers announced. The event will be held May 9–11, 2016, at the Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas.

In 2012, Horsager published “The Trust Edge: How Top Leaders Gain Faster Results, Deeper Relationships and a Stronger Bottom Line.” The book became a national bestseller and was reviewed in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post.

“A lack of trust is your biggest expense,” Horsager wrote. “Everything of value is built on trust, from financial systems to relationships.”

“The Trust Edge” launched Horsager, an entrepreneur, corporate boardmember and university professor, on a speaking and consulting career. Past clients have included the New York Yankees, the U.S. Congress and the Department of Homeland Security.

“At the heart of ‘The Trust Edge’ is the contention that, by building trust in yourself in your business, an entrepreneur gains a competitive edge,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom. “I know agents will respond to Horsager’s message and we are honored to be able to bring a speaker of his caliber to our event.”

Registration for Agent Summit 2016 is open at the event’s website as well as by phone, fax and email. Attendees who register by April 4 will enjoy a $100 discount.

Dave Anderson to Bring Leadership Training to Agent Summit

LAS VEGAS — Leadership expert Dave Anderson has agreed to deliver a motivational keynote address at Agent Summit, courtesy of EasyCare, organizers said Tuesday. The event will be held May 9–11, 2016, at the Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas.

“We are excited to share Dave Anderson with all of the participants at Agent Summit,” said Larry Dorfman, CEO of Automobile Protection Corp. (APCO), home of the EasyCare brand. “His leadership and accountability teachings have been instrumental in the record growth of EasyCare over the past few years, and we know that everyone he touches with his powerful message will have a chance to be more successful if they apply it to their businesses and their lives.”

Anderson is the founder and president of LearnToLead, an Agoura Hills, Calif.-based sales and leadership development provider, and an automotive retail veteran. He is the author of 13 books and has contributed publications within and outside the auto industry, including The Wall Street Journal and US News & World Report, and has delivered more than 1,000 workshops and speeches in 16 countries over the past decade.

“Vision without strategy is hallucination, and strategy without execution brings exasperation,” Anderson said. “Thus, I’m excited to share an incredible five-step process for exponentially increasing your business results with my ‘How to Master the Art of Execution’ presentation at Agent Summit in Las Vegas!”
