Agent Summit Sponsorships Are Going Fast

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of the annual Agent Summit announced that sponsorships and exhibition space for the 2017 event have nearly sold out with several months to go before showtime. The event will be held May 21–24 at Paris Las Vegas.

“In what has become an annual tradition, after re-signing our sponsors from last year’s event, we are left with limited opportunities for 2017,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and P&A magazines. “We have a number of excellent options open to new partners for our growing event, but they won’t last long.”

Last year’s event attracted about 1,000 agents and agent principals, speakers, F&I product executives and special guests. The three-day agenda included sessions dedicated to F&I department and agency development, reinsurance, technology and more, plus a number of networking opportunities and sessions open only to agent principals.

More information about the 2017 event, including the full agenda, will be released soon. To inquire about sponsorship and exhibition opportunities, contact David Gesualdo at 727-947-4027 or via email hidden; JavaScript is required.

UDS’s Crisorio Returns as Agent Summit Advisory Board Chair

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of the annual Agent Summit announced that Randy Crisorio, president and CEO of United Development Systems Inc. (UDS), will serve a fifth consecutive term as advisory board chair. The 2017 event is scheduled for May 21–24 at Paris Las Vegas.

“As an experienced and accomplished agent, Randy has his thumb on the pulse of our industry,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom. “We fully expect he and his team to produce another hard-hitting and action-backed agenda no agent can ignore.”

The advisory board’s principal task is to decide upon which topics are of pressing importance to agents and invite speakers to address them. In the course of Crisorio’s tenure, the scope of the event has expanded from its original focus on F&I training to include sessions devoted to agency development, dealer recruitment and relations, reinsurance, new technology, and much more.

To build the event’s agenda, Crisorio and his team rely heavily on suggestions from agents and other attendees. Past feedback has led to a number of new topics and features, including a block of sessions open only to agent principals.

“Business has been great, but to take the next step up, join fellow agents from across the country in an idea exchange that will write your future,” Crisorio said. “There is no limit to what we can accomplish together.”

Agent Summit Reaches Fever Pitch

LAS VEGAS — The attendees of the sixth annual Agent Summit were treated to three days of advanced education for agents and agent principals, highly motivating keynote addresses and a panoply of networking events.

The event, which was held May 9–11 at the Venetian Palazzo in Las Vegas, also drew 60 exhibitors to a spacious exhibit hall — a first for Agent Summit — as well as the support of 90 sponsors.

“Thanks to the combined efforts of the events teams at Bobit Business Media and MG Business Media, our advisory board and our speakers and supporters, Agent Summit has established itself as a can’t-miss event for agents in the know,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom magazines. “We couldn’t be happier with the turnout or the results.”

Key sponsors included Accelerated Service International (ASI), which sponsored the event’s registration desk; AUL, AutoBodyguard and MaximTrak, which sponsored evening receptions; National Automotive Experts (NAE/NWAN), which sponsored refreshment breaks and this year’s shoe shine station; and SouthwestRe, which sponsored the meet-and-greet that kicked of the fourth annual Reinsurance Symposium. EasyCare along with GWC Warranty sponsored the event’s opening keynote address; E-Credit Express sponsored a cigar rolling station; and Allstate Dealer Services, American Financial & Automotive Services (AFAS), Portfolio, United Car Care (UCC) and Warranty Solutions sponsored meals and refreshment breaks.

At the heart of the agenda was a panoply of featured presentations and panel discussions devoted to Technology, Compliance, Training, Coaching & Development, Profit Opportunities and Selling to Dealers. Randy Crisorio, CEO and president of United Development Systems (UDS) and chair of the Agent Summit advisory board, said the event exceeded all expectations and will pay dividends for all who attended.

“Agent Summit 2016 was outstanding on many fronts,” Crisorio said. “The industry veterans shined on stage and the motivational speakers danced through people themes while walking across the tables. Attendees were clearly lathered up by the exchange of information and ready to return to their markets and pursue the cash!”

Bill Kelly to Helm ‘Selling to Dealers’ Panel at Agent Summit

LAS VEGAS — Automotive Development Group (ADG)’s Bill Kelly will lead a panel discussion at the upcoming Agent Summit, organizers announced Tuesday. The event will be held May 9–11, 2016, at the Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas.

Kelly’s session is titled “My Prospect Doesn’t Seem to Get It!” and will begin at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, as part of the “Selling to Dealers” portion of the Agent Summit agenda. He will be joined by Kevin Hausch of Protective Asset Protection, Coffeen Management Co.’s Justin Jones, Dealer Associates Inc.’s Rick Messinger and Michael Pack of Resource Agent Group/First Extended.

“So often we hear agents say that, if only they could get their foot in the door, there is so much they could do for their prospects,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom magazines. “If you don’t walk away from this panel with more strategies — and more confidence — for that challenge, then you weren’t paying attention.”

The group is expected to focus on honing the message agents and agency principals give to prospective dealer clients, including the advantages particular to the agency, its programs and its sales strategy. Kelly said he was honored to serve as a moderator, particularly given the caliber of his panelists.

“This is an amazing group of high-impact industry professionals that will be sure to give everyone something to take back to their respective areas,” Kelly said. “I am looking forward to what will be the most talked-about hour at Agent Summit!”

Tom O’Neil to Lead Coaching & Development Panel at Agent Summit

LAS VEGAS — Agency principal Tom O’Neil will serve as moderator for a panel devoted to coaching and F&I development at Agent Summit, organizers announced. The event will be held May 9–11, 2016, at the Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas.

The panel, “Building a Team Theme for Prosperity,” will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10. O’Neil and his team will discuss how the installation of a new agency, F&I process and product suite can be derailed by a loss of focus and loyalty to former providers at the dealership level.

“How does an agent earn absolute, unconditional buy-in from a new client?” asked David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom. “It’s an important topic and one that I applaud Tom and his panel for tackling head-on.”

O’Neil is the founder and executive manager of O’Neil Financial Services Agency in Westerville, Ohio. He will be joined by panelists Jimmy Atkinson of AUL Corp., John Kane of Empire Dealer Services, Arkansas F&I’s Lewis Matthews Jr. and John Vecchioni of United Car Care Inc. (UCC).

“Getting the dealer to sign up is only the first step in a long-term F&I relationship. The real work is the ongoing coaching and development of each player, manager and the owner of each dealership,” O’Neil said. “If you cannot coach and develop every member of the team to buy in and execute your plan, the F&I numbers will not be there and you will not be there!”

Eric ‘Frenchy’ Mélon Plans Coaching Session for Agent Summit

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of the upcoming Agent Summit announced that Eric “Frenchy” Mélon, president of sales at IAS, will serve as a featured speaker at the event, which is scheduled for May 9–11, 2016, at the Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas.

“The importance of training is not lost on agents, but the means to that end often can be,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom. “Frenchy has the experience, the tools and the mindset agents need to take their dealer development skills to the next level and beyond.”

Mélon’s session, “Coaching for Success in Money and Mind,” will begin at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10. A veteran trainer and executive, Mélon has built a reputation for challenging the status quo and not pulling punches. He said his session will go beyond the typical training seminar to educate agents on fresh techniques to improve performance, increase employee engagement and solve the everyday challenges that either drive or hinder personal growth.

By focusing on the right habits to develop and their impact on every aspect of the dealership, Mélon added, he will outline how the power of disciplined process drives sales by drastically improving customer experience and equip attendees with new tools that are simple, easy-to-implement and get results.

“Personnel turnover is at critical levels for our industry. It’s vital that we stop the bleeding and solve this profound problem,” Mélon said. “As the customer of today changes, so do the people working in dealerships. To finally drag our industry into the 21st century, we’re going to have to evolve, and it all starts with developing our people.”

“The flood of new technology into the dealer and agent segments can at times be overwhelming, but it can’t be ignored,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom. “We are counting on Randy and his team to help us sort through the wealth of new developments and focus on the ones that drive F&I product sales.”

The panel, “Technology on the Move — New Horizons” will begin at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, May 9. “What the agents in attendance get out of this session depends on the questions we ask,” Pazik said. “How do agents, dealers and customers — particularly Millennial customers — interact and respond to new technology? I want to know what these providers are doing to make sure their products are relevant to the market.”

NADA’s Koblenz to Shed Light on CFPB at Agent Summit

LAS VEGAS — Andrew D. Koblenz of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) will speak at the upcoming Agent Summit and provide attendees with insights into the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)’s regulation of the auto finance market, organizers announced. The sixth annual event will be held May 9–11, 2016, at the Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas.

“Understanding the trajectory of the CFPB’s activity regarding the auto finance market is critical to understanding the current regulatory environment in which we find ourselves,” Koblenz said. “It’s also a vital part of evaluating those concrete steps that dealers and lenders can and should be taking in the face of this new regulatory reality.”

Koblenz currently serves as executive vice president of legal and regulatory affairs for NADA, and also oversees the organization’s economic and research department. He is a frequent speaker and valued source for a number of industry events and publications.

At September’s Industry Summit, Koblenz presented “Solving the CFPB Problem,” a comprehensive review of actions undertaken by the CFPB, the effects of those actions on the industry and what the future holds for the oft-maligned agency. He is expected to touch on similar themes at Agent Summit.

“Andy never fails to connect with his audience, because he approaches the topic of compliance with hard-won expertise and disarming humor,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom magazines. “He understands both the seriousness and absurdity of the CFPB’s efforts. He is the ideal speaker for a key topic at a critical juncture.”

Mike Burgiss to Discuss ‘Next-Level’ F&I Sales at Agent Summit

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of Agent Summit have announced that MakeMyDeal’s Mike Burgiss will present “Next-Level Product Sales” at the 2016 event, scheduled for May 9–11 at the Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas.

“Those who know Mike Burgiss know he is at the leading edge of F&I product sales,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom. “Agents and dealers who fail to stay abreast of the latest advances risk losing opportunities.”

Burgiss’ presentation will focus on protection-product sales in the dealership as well as with customers who wish to complete all or part of the F&I transaction at home or their place of business, online or by phone. He will also discuss new technology designed to maintain or improve production as car buyers’ preferences and demands continue to evolve.

“The opportunity for dealers to build a consumer’s intent to purchase F&I products is greater than it’s ever been, and delivering a modern and efficient experience in the business office is the perfect complement to a strong sales process,” Burgiss said. “Dealers and agents that adopt an online and digital mindset for F&I will continue to grow their businesses faster and stronger than the competition.”

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of the annual Agent Summit have announced that BOK Financial’s Jim Huntzinger has agreed to speak at the 2016 event, which will be held May 9–11 at the Venetian Palazzo in Las Vegas.

David Horsager to Deliver Agent Summit Keynote

LAS VEGAS — World-renowned motivational speaker and leadership trainer David Horsager will deliver the Wednesday keynote address at this year’s Agent Summit, organizers announced. The event will be held May 9–11, 2016, at the Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas.

In 2012, Horsager published “The Trust Edge: How Top Leaders Gain Faster Results, Deeper Relationships and a Stronger Bottom Line.” The book became a national bestseller and was reviewed in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post.

“The Trust Edge” launched Horsager, an entrepreneur, corporate boardmember and university professor, on a speaking and consulting career. Past clients have included the New York Yankees, the U.S. Congress and the Department of Homeland Security.

Crisorio to Steer Agent Summit Advisory Board

“Randy has been an earnest supporter of Agent Summit from Day One, and his leadership has consistently produced comprehensive and hard-hitting agendas,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom magazines. “We can’t wait to see what his team comes up with this year.”

Overview of Agent Summit 2015

Agent Summit is back and better than ever, and this year at an exciting new Las Vegas location, The Venetian Palazzo. As the industry’s only training and networking event created specifically for agents, this year’s show is positioned to explore the latest techniques, trends and challenges when it comes to selling to dealers, training, coaching and development, and technology. The goal of the show is to help agents better serve their dealer clients by improving their dealers’ F&I performance and growing profits. Agent Summit V will feature some of the top constituents of the industry as they zero-in on the most relevant issues to agents today.

For the third consecutive year, Agent Summit will launch with a pre-conference Reinsurance Symposium, beginning midday on Monday, March 2, 2015. A 12:30 p.m. meet-and-greet will be followed by sessions on controlled foreign corporations (CFCs) and non-controlled foreign corporations (NCFC). The Reinsurance Symposium will conclude at 3:00 p.m., shortly before the welcome address and the commencement of Agent Summit.

The advisory board has done a great deal of work putting together an agenda to address the topics most critical for agents. Sessions are jam packed with content to help agents be more productive and land more profitable deals. For the third consecutive year, Randy Crisorio, president and CEO, United Development Systems, has taken the lead as the advisory board chair.

Crisorio says he is looking forward to what promises to be a banner year for Agent Summit, which has grown in scope and attendance since the inaugural event in 2011. “Agent Summit has skyrocketed to the forefront of interest and attendance for agents and indirect providers alike,” says Crisorio, “We often hear of the valuable takeaways put into practice when returning home and that delivers a lot of satisfaction to the group assembling the content.”

This year’s advisory board includes Tony Fincannon, president, Dealer Associates; Arden Hetland, president, American Financial and Automotive Services; Bill Kelly, partner, Automotive Development Group; Lance LaCoe, president, Century Automotive; Sid Vance, partner, MAJ Consulting; and Tony Wanderon, CEO, National Auto Care.

“From the outset, we have recruited advisory board teams made up of talented and dedicated general agents and leading industry executives. This year’s board continues that tradition,” says David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom.

Day One

Day one of Agent Summit begins at 3:30 pm, after the conclusion of the Reinsurance Symposium. The opening sessions will focus on business-growing strategies for selling to dealers. Jimmy Atkinson, COO, AUL Corporation will feature in the first presentation, titled “SELLING TO DEALERS: A Winning Strategy for Closing More Business.” Atkinson has more than 30 years of industry experience and works daily with agents and dealers across the country to create unique solutions that keep pace with the rapidly changing marketplace. His presentation will highlight critical steps in the process for creating opportunities and making more deals happen. Atkinson will also look at the key aspects of product penetration and dealer development.

The next session, titled “SELLING TO DEALERS: Make Your Pitch Count,” takes attendees to ground zero for a close up look at the battle plans for winning the war and unseating the incumbent when it comes to partnering with dealers. A panel of seasoned industry veterans, including Dylan Doran, president, Western Fidelity Insured Services Inc.; Brian LoBaugh, partner, AutoGroup Services; David Neuenschwander, vice president, National Automotive Experts; and Joe Nuszkowski, division vice president, Protective Asset Protection; will share their expertise and insights on how to get the job done. Jay Sharpnack, national sales manager, CNA National, will keep things rolling as the session moderator.

“The F&I space is more competitive than ever, which puts a lot of pressure on the strong relationships that most agents have,” says Sharpnack, “Big Box companies continue to rely on processes, pricing, perception and scare tactics to get in the dealer’s door. Agents have to push themselves to prepare, work harder and smarter to know the tactics of these Big Box companies, and take a page out of their playbook to beat them at their own game. Dealers don’t necessarily buy what someone does, but why they do it. This session will drill down to the driving forces behind the most successful players in this space – good agents.”

Day Two

Tuesday brings a full day of informative sessions divided into three categories: training, coaching and development, and technology. Each topic will open with a featured speaker followed by a panel session.

Ron Reahard, president, Reahard & Associates Inc. is recognized in dealer and agency circles as a top trainer in the F&I segment. In his presentation “TRAINING: Training, Sir!” he will share his results-driven techniques and focus on strategies agents can use to expand upon the product-provider aspect of agency operations to become true business partners to their dealer clients.

In the training panel session, titled “TRAINING: Cashing In Through Training”, Jay Lawrence, field training director, National Auto Care, will lead an all-star cast of training authorities. They plan to drill down on topical themes as well as look to the needs of retail personnel in service, sales, desking and F&I management. Tony Dupaquier, director of F&I training, American Financial and Automotive Services; Gerry Gould, director of training, United Development Systems Inc.; Glen Tuscan, President, Dealer Commitment Services Inc.; and John Vecchioni, director of business development, United Car Care, make up the panel and represent the cream of the crop in training expertise.

Day Two will continue with Joe St. John, director of training for Innovative Aftermarket Systems (IAS), presenting his neuroscience-based coaching and development session. St. John will use brain science to demonstrate how behavior based coaching delivers greater effectiveness in the F&I office and more product sales for agents. He will address a “why” focused, behavior-driven model that seeks to elevate skill and effectiveness at each and every opportunity. St. John’s scientific approach will be presented in his session titled “COACHING & DEVELOPMENT: Xs & Os – Brain Science for Better Coaching.” Agents should come away with with new strategies that yield increased sales and PVR.

“To remain relevant and prove oneself indispensable to one’s dealer clients, agents must stay up to date with new theories and methods,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom. “Joe’s presentation is guaranteed to captivate our attendees and, hopefully, pay dividends for their dealer clients.”

A line up of peak performers, including Adam Barocio, president, Premier F and I Development LLC; Doug Dingman, owner, PRO Consulting LLC; David Frisbie, owner, Profit Portfolio Inc.; and Michael Marchione, director of training, Interstate National, will follow in the coaching and development panel session titled “COACHING AND DEVELOPMENT: Cashing in Through Training.” Jim Schaffer, vice president, Northeast Dealer Services, will act as moderator to the panel. As people, processes and products hold their place as constants in the formula for maximum profitability, this panel will look at growth from the inside as well as the needs of retail personnel in service, sales, desking and F&I Management. They will offer unique solutions for overcoming everyday obstacles that stand in the way of premiere F&I performance on the front lines.

The final two sessions for the day will look at the latest technology impacting the F&I office. First, Jim Maxim Jr., president, MaximTrak, will show agents how to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to technology offerings. His presentation, titled “TECHNOLOGY: The Technology-Driven Agent,” will touch on several topics that address the benefits of embracing technology in agency operations, including what to look for in an IT partner, using advanced tools to drive sales, and how to anticipate potential threats. Maxim will share innovative solutions to streamline operations and make life as an agent easier and more profitable.

Matt Nowicki, vice president, Innovative Aftermarket Systems (IAS), will moderate the panel session on technology, “TECHNOLOGY: The Technology-Driven Agent.” This group of technology providers and F&I agencies includes Brent Allen, president, StoneEagle; Steven Jameson, Director of Sales and Marketing, Dealer Resources Inc.; Randy Pazik, president and owner, Accelerated Profit Technologies; and Mark Thorpe, founder and president, The Impact Group. They will examine the various decades-old menu styles and tracking systems still employed in today’s marketplace. Nowicki will challenge the panel on the debate of menu effectiveness and the variety of available tracking metrics. Attendees are sure to leave this session armed with an understanding of best – and worst – options in technology for the F&I office.

A Third Day for Agency Principals Only

In response to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from Agent Summit 2014, a bonus third day designed exclusively for agency principals will once again conclude the summit. This specialized session will focus on the business operations involved in successfully operating an agency. The morning will get started in high gear with an agency principals only breakfast and roundtable discussion. Throughout the morning session, giveaway winners for the Tissot Sailing Touch, Luminox Deep Dive, and Rolex Explorer II will be announced.

“I am truly excited about this year’s Summit for a variety of reasons” says Crisorio, “First, the Venetian Palazzo property is awesome and I can see group Gondola rides taking place once the Summit heats up. But really – the speaker line up is pure energy and with business being as good as it is, we need to employ every tool in our box to charge ahead. The delivery of content is sure to light the fuse and bolster our opportunities to cash in this year.”

Petrowski, Feldman to Lead Reinsurance Symposium

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of the annual Agent Summit have announced that Greg Petrowski of GPW and Associates Inc. (GPWA) and Brian Feldman, executive vice president of Spencer Re, will headline this year’s Reinsurance Symposium, which is scheduled for Monday, March 2, at the Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas.

The Reinsurance Symposium will kick off with a Meet & Greet With Reinsurance Sponsors at 12:30 p.m. At 1:00 p.m., Petrowski, who serves as GPWA’s senior vice president, secretary and treasurer, will lead a session on controlled foreign corporations (CFCs). He helped spark interest in reinsurance education among agents in 2012, when he appeared in a Q&A-style presentation with Randy Crisorio, president and CEO of United Development Systems Inc., at that year’s Agent Summit. The first Reinsurance Symposium was held the following year.

“Greg is an expert and a thought leader in the reinsurance segment, and we appreciate his continued support of Agent Summit,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom. “He is one of the main reasons Reinsurance Symposium is a standing room-only event.”

After a sponsored refreshment break, Feldman will take the stage at 2:10 p.m. to deliver a presentation on non-controlled foreign corporations (NCFCs). A 20-year veteran of the automotive insurance and reinsurance industry, Feldman held executive positions with GMAC Insurance and Allstate Dealer Services before joining Spencer Re.

“Limitless demand from dealers creates limitless opportunities for agents,” Gesualdo said. “Brian is uniquely qualified to get our attendees up to speed on this important component of a mutually beneficial reinsurance program.”

Feldman’s session will conclude at 3:00 p.m., shortly before the commencement of Agent Summit, which will continue through midday Wednesday. The symposium is open to any Agent Summit attendee holding a full show pass.

Crisorio, who also chairs the Agent Summit advisory board, added that he was enthused about the content of the reinsurance presentations, as they will include information that will be new to many in attendance and, as a result, agents will be well-armed to return to their markets with a better-defined strategy to sign more deals.

Save the Date for Agent Summit 2015

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of the annual Agent Summit have announced that next year’s event has been scheduled for March 2–4, 2015. For the first time since 2012, Agent Summit will be held at a new venue: The Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas will host the event for at least the next three years.

David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Agent Entrepreneur, said the move to a larger venue was inevitable. “We will always remember Caesars Palace as our home for the three years in which Agent Summit grew from a small conference to a grand event,” he said. “In 2015, we will pen the next chapter with a significantly larger footprint and new facilities, restaurants and shops for attendees to explore.”

The event reached new heights in March, when nearly 800 agents, speakers and exhibitors attended Agent Summit IV. The agenda stretched across three days and included groundbreaking sessions on reinsurance, dealer development and agency building.

Tunney joins an all-star list of speakers for Agent Summit 2012, which is scheduled for March 12–14 at Caesars Palace Las Vegas. He will appear courtesy of CNA National.

Braganini Joins Agent Summit Roster

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of Agent Summit 2012 have announced that John Braganini, principal of Great Lakes Companies, will deliver the event’s evening keynote address. The second annual Agent Summit, scheduled for March 12-14 at Caesars Palace Las Vegas is organized by Agent Entrepreneur and presented in partnership with F&I and Showroom.

The event will kick off on the evening of March 12, 2012, and continue with educational sessions, panel discussions and exhibits for the next two days. David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of F&I and Showroom, said that Braganini fits the bill perfectly.

“We look for two strengths in our speakers: success, and a willingness to share their secrets for it,” Gesualdo said. “Brags has both of those in spades.”

Webb to Kick Off Agent Summit 2012

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of the second annual Agent Summit, scheduled for March 12–14, 2012, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, have announced that leading trainer Paul Webb will deliver the event’s opening keynote address.

A 20-year industry veteran, Webb is principal of Paul Webb Training, a nationally recognized firm that counts many of the nation’s top auto dealers among its clients. A highly sought-after speaker, Webb has addressed crowds ranging from dealer seminars to NADA conventions and 20 Groups.

“I’m excited to speak at the Agent Summit in 2012,” Webb said. “Change starts with education, and each summit provides new and exciting ideas to assist agents with the management of change. Communication skills are critical in presenting products and services. We’ll address the decision process so you’ll understand how to change your mind and keep the change. I look forward to seeing everyone in 2012.”

David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of F&I and Showroom magazine, said he was both humbled and proud to have Webb on board.

“We started small,” Gesualdo said. “Nobody who was there last March would say otherwise. But we filled the room, as they say, and we know next year’s show will put us at the next level in scale and scope. Having Paul on the team is a major step toward that goal.”

Agent Summit is the first event of its kind designed specifically by and for automotive general agents. The 2011 conference and expo drew more than 200 attendees from across the country, laying the groundwork for the larger event next year.

First Details Released For Agent Summit 2012

LAS VEGAS – F&I and Showroom and Agent Entrepreneur announced this week that Agent Summit 2012 will be held March 12–14 at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace.

Agent Summit 2011 took place March 12–14 at the Las Vegas Hilton and was co-sponsored by Agent Entrepreneur and F&I and Showroom. The agenda was packed with a Who’s Who of speakers, panelists and industry experts, and based on the feedback from the attendees, the event was a great success. After welcoming more than 200 attendees to last month’s first annual event, organizers decided to expand the Agent Summit for 2012.

Following the show, however, F&I’s publisher, David Gesualdo, expressed regret at having to limit the size of the inaugural event. “We didn’t anticipate the attendance or the level of interest from exhibitors,” Gesualdo said. “At one point, we had to start turning people away, but for 2012, we plan to accommodate everyone.”

The new venue at Caesars will allow the organizers to expand the agenda, host separate conference and exhibition spaces and open the schedule for pre-conference events such as association meetings, and a golf or poker tournament. The move will affect the scope, but not the quality, of the event.

“Caesars Palace is a great property right on the strip and can accommodate the growth we expect,” Gesualdo said. “We’re excited about the move to Caesars, the quality of the agenda, and the enthusiasm with which the attendees have embraced the concept.”

Wanderon, Angus to Lead Lunchtime Sessions

The former president of Allstate Dealer Services and the training firm behind a new dealer study are scheduled to address attendees during two special lunchtime sessions at the inaugural Agent Summit, event organizers announced today.

Tony Wanderon, former president of Allstate Dealer Services and now president of his own consulting firm – Jacksonville, Fla.-based Family First Dealer Services LLC – will offer insights on preparing one’s agency for sale on Wednesday, March 9, at 12:30 p.m.

The 24-year insurance industry professional will take attendees back to 1997, when Wanderon – considered by many as the industry’s GAP guru – sold his former ERJ Insurance Group to AHL. He will talk about the steps he took to prepare his firm for sale, and will provide strategies on how agent principals can maximize their business’ future market value.

“Hearing from an expert like Tony, who has managed his own agency, F&I company and who is considered the leading expert on GAP, will definitely be a treat for those in attendance,” said Gregory Arroyo, executive editor of F&I and Showroom magazine and chair of the Agent Summit’s advisory board. “Obviously, most agent principals don’t like to think about the topic Tony will be addressing, but, after what we’ve been through the last three years, it’s a topic they need to hear.”

Results of a new dealer study on what dealers look for in F&I product providers and general agents will take center stage on Tuesday, March 8, at 12:30 p.m. Led by George Angus, celebrated trainer and the face of Team One Group, which conducted the study, the session will reveal insights on dealer product needs, preferences on service contract offerings and chemical products, as well as dealer software and training needs.

“George’s study will even delve into what new products dealers are most interested in, which is an important insight now that the economy is showing signs of life,” said Adam Kimber, associate publisher of Agent Entrepreneur, a new e-zine for agents and media partner with F&I magazine on the new Agent Summit. “More importantly, the study will offer insights on the direction agents need to take their marketing efforts. This is really a can’t-miss session.”

The Agent Summit is scheduled for March 8-9 at the Las Vegas Hilton. For more information, visit www.agentsummit.com .
