Panel of Legal and Insurance Experts to Examine DOWCs at Agent Summit

MarksNelson’s David Kaseff will lead a panel dedicated to participation programs, with a focus on dealer owned warranty companies, at the upcoming Agent Summit.

LAS VEGAS — Agent Summit organizers announced that insurance tax expert David Kaseff will lead a panel devoted to participation programs at the 2019 event, which will be held May 19–22 at the Venetian & Palazzo Resort Hotel Casinos in Las Vegas.

At 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, Kaseff, a partner and CFO at MarksNelson, will be joined by Edvie Castro of Dealer Owned Warranty Company, Portfolio’s Dan Haugen, and Alan Markowitz of Alan L. Markowitz Attorney at Law, to present “All About DOWCs.” The panel is expected to examine new opportunities in and standards for participation programs, with a focus on dealer-owned warranty companies as well as controlled and non-controlled foreign corporations.

“Given the significant amount of tax and regulatory change occurring, the landscape of what works best for clients is also changing,” said Kaseff. “This is evidenced by the increased interest in programs like dealer-owned warranty companies.”

Tax reform has been a boon to agents and dealers and a curveball for the reinsurance segment. Attendees can count on this rare combination of legal, tax, and sales experts to cover all the bases and bring you up to speed on the latest developments.

“The advisory board has assembled a team of tax experts to provide attendees with the lowdown on today’s reinsurance landscape,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of AE and F&I and Showroom magazines. “After three days of new ideas and insight, I couldn’t think of a better group to close the show.”

The Reinsurance Symposium is an annual part of Agent Summit and is open to all attendees as part of their full show pass. The 2019 symposium’s agenda is comprised of a keynote presentation from GPW and Associates’ Greg Petrowski, a featured presentation by Weill & Mazer APC’s Andrew Weill, and the DOWC panel.
